Guidelines and Rules
To keep our tribute page as beautiful as possible, there are a few rules and guidelines that I would like to request that you follow. Please read this page in its entirety before proceeding!
Please note: This is NOT the fanlisting for Mr. Darcy! This is a tributes page, where fans can write their thoughts about Mr. Darcy, his character, his impact on them, etc. This is NOT the place for fangirlish gushing abot Colin Firth, or bashing of Wickham, or looking for online friends, or just getting listed as a fan. If it's the latter you want, please go here.
Rules
These are hard and fast rules for this tribute page -- if your tribute fails these, I'm sorry but I can't put it up on this section. No exceptions!
- Write understandably and legibly in English. By this, I mean no alternating caps (n0tH!Ng lYk dIs), ebonics, excessive use of street/Internet slang. Run your tribute through a spelling and grammar checker before hitting submit. I can't proofread your tribute for you if it's riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. I understand English may not be your native tongue (it's not mine, either) but please try to give proper tribute to Darcy by writing it well.
- Do not write anything offensive in your tribute. By offensive, I don't just mean swear/cuss words (which is a big, resounding NO) but also refrain from bashing actors/directors/etc of Pride and Prejudice remakes. We would all love to defend Colin Firth's portrayal of the character, I know, but that doesn't mean we should resort to insulting other versions. If you swear or write anything offensive in your tribute, it will not be placed here (or will be edited, at the very least).
Guidelines
These are guidelines -- they are not rules, but I would very much like these guidelines followed to maintain the quality of our tributes page. If I feel that your tribute fails these guidelines too much, I'm sorry but I can't put the tribute up.
- Make your tribute something of substance. This isn't the place for one- or two-liners about Mr. Darcy; tell us what you like about him, how his character or his story or his involvement in Pride and Prejudice has affected you.
- Keep the fangirling to a minimum. I know we would all love to gush about Mr. Darcy or Colin Firth or Matthew Macfadyen or Laurence Olivier, but please keep the incoherent fangirling away from your tribute. You can certainly express your very pointed admiration at Firth's portrayal, you can center your tribute on his Darcy, even -- but please do remember that *squeal* and omgsquee! and other forms of fangirling shouldn't be here.
- Provide a realistic name or screen name. I do NOT want to see "Mrs. Darcy" or some such sort. If you would rather use your online nickname than your real name (just your first name is okay), that is fine, but I will remove special characters from your screen name (i.e., ~*~Ang3lGurl~*~ will be AngelGurl). If I can't make heads or tails of the name that you provide, I will make something up instead. :P
- If you expect me to list your website, make sure the link to your website is correct and there is no offensive content on your website. I don't require that it be P&P related. (And no, you are not required to put a link up or anything of that sort!)
All done?
Have you read all the items? That's great! :D I would love to read and post your Darcy tributes, so go ahead and write it!
